Chartered by Emory United Methodist Church in 1990, Troop 9 has continued a rich tradition of scouting in Carroll County.

Outdoor Adventure

Our Troop has a long history of challenging our scouts to pursue and properly prepare for adventure. Not only are our outdoor activities tremendously fun, but they also serve as the perfect setting to teach leadership, self-resilience, and confidence. Throughout the year you might find us Backpacking, canoeing, or working on survival skills.

Leadership

In Scouts BSA we build character and develop leaders. We believe a unit of well-trained scouts can be taught to be self-sufficient and lead themselves, while still having fun. Our scouts lead meetings, plan trips, prepare meals and set up camp themselves, and learn to lead their peers and train younger scouts along the wayl.

Friendship

Lifelong friends are built within scouts. By working together as patrols, playing games, climbing mountains, paddling streams, cooking together, and helping each other advance, the bonds formed amongst scouts are permanent.
